Raw Materials

Phenol: As the starting raw material of the reaction, it provides the benzene ring structure and phenolic hydroxyl group, and undergoes reactions such as condensation with other raw materials during the reaction.

Dimethylamine: Generally, a 40% aqueous solution is used, which provides the dimethylamino group for the reaction and is a key raw material for forming the amino group structure in the target product. Formaldehyde: Usually used in the form of a 37% aqueous solution, it acts as a connecting group in the reaction, reacting with phenol and dimethylamine to promote the growth and cross-linking of the molecular chain, forming the final structure of tris(dimethylaminomethyl)phenol. Production Process and Steps Charging: Put 200 kilograms of phenol and 720 kilograms of dimethylamine into a 2000L reaction kettle. Dropwise Addition Reaction: Slowly add 520 kilograms of formaldehyde dropwise below 50°C. After the dropwise addition is completed, heat up to 70°C and maintain the temperature for a reaction of 2 hours, so that phenol, dimethylamine and formaldehyde fully undergo a condensation reaction to produce a crude product of 2,4,6-tris(dimethylaminomethyl)phenol. Post-treatment: Cool down to 50°C, add 100 kilograms of sodium chloride, stir evenly and then let it stand for layering. Separate the lower water layer, and then carry out vacuum dehydration on the crude product to remove the residual water and unreacted raw materials, and the DMP-30 product can be obtained. If gaseous dimethylamine is used at the beginning and nitrogen is used to displace the air in the kettle, a product with a relatively lighter color can be obtained.

Application Fields

Epoxy Resin Curing: It is a curing accelerator for epoxy resin adhesives, which can promote the complete curing of epoxy resin within a relatively short time.
