SEBS is hydrogenated SBS. In the presence of a catalyst, the polybutadiene segment is hydrogenated into polyethylene (E) and polybutene (B) segments, so we call it SEBS. The chemical resistance of SEBS is similar to natural rubber, and it has excellent resistance to water, acid and alkali. SEBS CH510 is a linear block copolymer. Physically appears as a powder, with a styrene content of 30% and a molecular weight of 100K. It is mainly used for plastic modification and compounding.

SEBS is a saturated SBS, also known as hydrogenated SBS, produced by the hydrogenation of a special linear SBS to saturate double bonds. SBS undergoes moderate directional hydrogenation in the presence of a catalyst, resulting in the hydrogenation of polybutadiene segments into polyethylene (E) and polybutene (B) segments, hence the name SEBS. Similarly, after hydrogenation of SIS, the polyisoprene in it is converted into polyethylene (E) and polypropylene segments, resulting in a saturated SIS (SEPS).
Hydrogenated SBS is generally relatively hard, has strong rigidity, high modulus, and significantly improves tensile strength compared to before hydrogenation, while the elongation at break decreases. SEBS has significantly improved its aging resistance to photooxygen and ozone due to the absence or absence of double bonds in its molecular chain.
SEBS is used to produce contact adhesives, pressure sensitive adhesives, hot soldering adhesives, building sealants, etc. with good aging resistance.
SEBS has excellent aging resistance, with both plasticity and high elasticity. It can be processed and used without vulcanization, and leftover materials can be reused. It is widely used in the production of high-end elastomers, plastic modifications, adhesives, lubricating oil tackifiers, filler and sheath materials for wires and cables, etc.

Industrial use
1. SEBS can produce elastomers with Shore hardness of A0-95 by mixing with polypropylene, naphthenic oil or hydrogenated naphthenic oil, white oil, etc. These elastomers have excellent surface texture, weather resistance and anti-aging performance, and can be widely used for soft contact materials such as handles, stationery, toys, sports equipment handshakes, sealing strips, wires and cables, toothbrush handles, and other coating materials.
2. SEBS is used for toughening nylon (PA6), polycarbonate (PC), polyphenylene oxide (PPO), polyester (PET, PBT), polypropylene (PP), and as a compatibilizer for plastic blending through chemical modification or blending.
3. SEBS can be used as a compatibilizer for engineering plastics, such as for PE and PS.
4. SEBS can be blended with polypropylene, white oil, flame retardants, etc. to produce sheaths or outer skins for wires and cables.
5. SEBS can be used in the production of high-end adhesives, sealants, etc. by combining with carbon five and other petroleum [wiki] resins. 6. SEBS can be directly used as a lubricant viscosity index stabilizer due to its aging and temperature resistance properties
