Adding calcium carbonate has a certain effect on improving certain properties of plastic products and expanding their application range. 1. Improving the stability of plastic product dimensions

The quality of lightweight calcium carbonate is not only determined by the grade of natural calcium carbonate, but also by the chemical reaction conditions such as calcination and grading fineness. The price of lightweight calcium carbonate should be more than twice that of heavy calcium carbonate of the same fineness. In the processing of PVC products, adding a large amount of calcium carbonate can reduce product quality, but if inferior calcium carbonate is added, the product quality will significantly decrease. Adding the same amount of calcium carbonate, high-quality calcium carbonate and low-quality calcium carbonate will make the performance of PVC products completely different. Usually, some manufacturers or distributors mix light calcium carbonate with heavy calcium carbonate and sell it at the price of light calcium carbonate, which can occur in various fineness of light calcium carbonate. In addition, some small factories do not have strict requirements for raw material sources and production processes, resulting in poor quality. Usually, the price of poor quality calcium carbonate is lower, and some manufacturers may purchase such calcium carbonate in order to achieve lower production costs. 2. Application
Calcium Carbonate is an acid soluble additive used for bridging and weighting agent for a controlling fluid loss and density. As a bridging agent and fluid loss-additive, normal concentrations are in the 10 to 50lb/bbl range (29 to 143 kg/m3).

Calcium Carbonate can also be added on a periodic basis for seepage control to limit losses (lost circulation and leak-off) to high permeability formations.It is particularly effective when drilling with high differential pressures caused by an overbalanced condition or when drilling depleted zones. Treatments range from 2 to 10 sacks per hour when used a preventative measure.

For depleted zone drilling or induced fracture applications, Calcium Carbonate is most effective when used in combination with Graphite additive.
