Styrene-ethylenebutylene-styrene copolymer rubbers (SEBS), mixtures of SEBS / polypropylene, TPE (thermoplastic elastomers) and polypropylenes are emerging as high-performance alternatives. In particular, TPEs are used to replace low durometer plasticized PVC in medical device applications, where biocompatibility characteristics are crucial.
